We decided to build the most advanced Cardinal reels ever. The result is the new Cardinal 600 series. The reels sport a compact design but still pack an array of professional features. For example, the new patented "Stamina Drag System" offers a 240% larger braking surface than front drag reels in the same class. And Abu Garcia's imaginative centre-drag system makes iteasierto adjust the brake, even with fish hooked. The strong and smooth-operating disc brake and generousline capacity make the Cardinal 600 series light alternatives that can also handle heavier fishing.
In addition, Cardinal 600 are 20% lighter than similar models on the market. The spool housing is partially constructed of aluminium to lessen reel weight. The biggest advantage of a one-piece housing, however, is that the gears remain firmly in position. This gives the reels superior balance and greatly minimises wear on the gears.
By loosening three screws you can quickly reach, service and oil the gears inside the housing without needing to take it apart. With regular self-maintenance and the reel's four ball bearings Cardinal 600 will spin smoothly and problem-free for many years to come.
And, of course, all Cardinal 600 reels are fitted with IAR [Instant Anti-Reverse). The oversized line roller of titanium nitride prevents line twistand minimises line wear.
